On June 13th we hosted our Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Growing Chefs! Ontario Headquarters with board members, network members, staff, and community partners in attendance.
The evening had a packed agenda that included program highlights, network member presentations, and fresh pizza from Growing Chefs!
Our AGM was a great opportunity to get together with community members and celebrate our accomplishments from the past year. We know we have a long way to go to achieve a more sustainable for everyone and achieve London's target of net-zero emissions by 2050. Taking a moment to acknowledge successful environmental projects in the sector is an important step in this journey, and motivates us to continue our collective work.
Thank you to our guests for their remarks and presentations:
- Terence Kernaghan, MPP London North Centre
- Jay Stanford, City of London
- Brendon Samuels, Bird Friendly London
- Molly Miksa, London Cycle Link
- Rebecca Launchbury, Thames Talbot Land Trust
- and our amazing staff team!
In addition to our presentations, we welcomed two new members to our Board of Directors: Julie Forrester and Peter Moddle. Thanks to our Board of Directors team (pictured below) for their work to support LEN.
Interim Leadership News!
We were also thrilled to announce the appointment of Leah Derikx, as our incoming Interim Executive Director in August 2023.
Leah has been an invaluable member of the LEN team for nearly 5 years and currently serves as Director of Operations. She is passionate about land conservation and biodiversity protection and we are very confident that the organization will be in good hands, while Marianne Griffith embarks on maternity leave. Congratulations to you both!
