Greener Homes London works to provide residents with the guidance, tools and resources to assist them with reducing their environmental impact at home. With a focus on highlighting the advantages of green modifications, the benefits of retrofits projects including significantly reducing energy consumption and in turn, lowering utility costs, as well as keeping up to date on available rebate and incentive programs that provide financial assistance for implementing green modifications, our ultimate goal is to create more sustainable homes.
Residential Rain Garden Pilot Program
Rain gardens are landscape features that replace an area of a lawn in order to collect stormwater (rain and melted snow) that runs off of grass, roofs, and driveways.
Their design means that they work like a bowl that collects water that flows across a property. This water is then able to slowly infiltrate into the ground rather than running off to a storm drain!
To help encourage local residents to install rain gardens on their property, this program offers 15 participants a reimbursement of up to $1,000.00 for expenses related to the installation of these aesthetically pleasing stormwater management tools!
The deadline to apply for the program has passed. We wish to thank all applicants in advance for their interest. Participants will be selected and notified in the coming weeks.
If you are interested in installing a rain garden, check out our Homeowner Educational Guide which includes tons of information to help you get started!
