Urban Roots London | Invasive Species Management program

In this video we will learn about the Urban Roots Invasive Species Management Project. The Norlan Ave site includes wetlands that have been overtaken by invasive species, such as phragmites and buckthorn. Because of this, they plan to conduct a herbicide-free trial to manage invasive phragmites with tarping in partnership with the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority.

In this video we will learn about how Bird Friendly London will be installing disposal receptacles for monofilament fishing line in areas along the Thames River where people fish. The project aims to raise awareness of monofilament as dangerous litter for wildlife among anglers and to encourage pedestrians to pick up litter.
