Pollinator Pathways Project (P3) has designed and installed 15 in-ground pollinator gardens in residences, and institutions in the Hamilton Road community. These gardens were installed over a period of April to June of 2025. Each pollinator garden consisted of up to 100 perennial seedlings, with up to 9 varieties of plants. The seedlings were grown by P3 volunteers, who also assisted the 15 recipients to prepare their garden and plant the seedlings.
P3 used our social media, and that of the Hamilton Road BIA, to advertise the project. P3 provided each recipient with detailed information on how to care for their garden and a P3 lawn sign to identify that they are supporter of pollinator gardens and a part of the London pollinator garden pathway. A final report on the project will be prepared in the fall/25 when the first year’s growth can be observed. It is anticipated that the installation of these 15 gardens, along with the 125 other gardens installed over the past 2 years, will encourage neighbours to install their own gardens.
Benefits of pollinator pathways
Pathways of pollinator gardens are critical for the survival of pollinators. These pathways serve as corridors that provide pollinators food, shelter, and essential habitats, which enables them to travel and thrive throughout our community. Learn more here
