Climate Change Panel Discussion 6pm

Some Assembly Theatre Company and the Roundhouse Youth Theatre Action Group (RHYTAG) share their online video “Uprooted”. Stemming from over 100 conversations with youth who are anxious about climate change, “Uprooted" reveals youth concerns, perspectives, and ideas for climate action. Originally intended as a live theatre performance in May 2020, local youth worked through the spring and summer with professional artists to re-create their work as a digitally adapted theatre production. These young artists and playwright/director Valerie Methot join in conversation with SFU biologist Lynne Quarmby author of "Watermelon Snow", a personal tale of adventure in the high Arctic aboard a schooner occupied by artists, in which she explains the science that convinced her of an urgent need to act on climate change.
