Rural landowners are invited to learn about conservation projects and available grants.

The annual Rural Landowner Workshop is headed to the Ilderton Community Centre on March 21st from 7 pm - 9 pm.

Landowners in the catchment area of the Ausable Bayfield, St. Clair, and Upper Thames River Conservation Authorities are invited to learn about conservation projects such as:

  • tree plantings including buffer strips, windbreaks, and highly erodible land retirement,
  • wetland construction,
  • prairie planting, and
  • agricultural Best Management Practices (e.g., cover crops, erosion control structures, etc.)

Conservation Authority experts will discuss how they can help with the planning and design of these projects, as well as access grants to reduce costs by up to 70%.

We are thrilled to welcome two guest speakers:

  • Chris Crump - Agricultural best management practices for erosion control
  • Len Duynisveld - Controlled drainage and strip tillage
