Urban Roots London planted a native micro prairie and pollinator garden as an urban restoration project and to highlight various native species. They hosted an educational workshop facilitated by Homegrown Society for the community to be involved in the planting of the garden. The garden has a mulched pathway that leads to a reflection circle within the garden for visitors to use.
Signage will be installed with a QR code that will link to educational resources created during the project. These virtual resources will teach Londoners about the different species in the garden and their importance to ecosystem health. The virtual component creates an opportunity to further develop the project with additional materials, including storytelling and art. The garden will serve as a site for educational farm tours and hands-on volunteer sessions.
