Celebrate National Moth Week with Biodiversity Inventory at Western (BIW) and BioBlitz London to see your local moths!

This is a guided event surveying nocturnal (especially moths!) biodiversity around the North Campus Building and Visual Arts Building at Western Campus. The event will be hosted by Tim Hain and Tristan Ducharme.

It's helpful to have a flashlight or headlamp to navigate around the area in the dark. Macro lenses work best for photographing these subjects. Feel free to bring a lawn chair to rest while we wait for moths to appear. You can stay for the full event or just pop in for a short time. All ages are welcome.

The mothing sheets/lights will be set up behind the John Labatt Visual Arts Centre (Western University, Perth Drive). Parking is available at the parking lot between the Visual Arts Centre and the Western Interdisciplinary Research Building (43°00'39.8"N 81°16'13.4"W).

Please download iNaturalist and create your free account in advance to be ready to make observations! An iNaturalist Ambassador will be available during the event if you need any help learning to use the app.

This event relies on proper weather. If it is too cold, windy or raining then we will cancel the event and notify you by email at least a couple of hours in advance.

This event takes place at the back of the buildings and is accessible for wheelchairs. Please remember that the area will be dark.

Please RSVP on Eventbrite here!
