Mobilizing Youth Roundtable Poster

Join the Jane Goodall Institute of Canada’s Youth Advisory Council (YAC) as we center decolonization and Indigenous leadership on climate action at a virtual roundtable. As the first event of the three-part series, our panelists will virtually discuss traditional knowledge and youth mobilization for climate justice. This roundtable is an opportunity for youth to understand WHY climate justice should be Indigenous-led.

Esteemed guest panelists including Deborah McGregor, Canada Research Chair in Indigenous Environmental Justice; Eriel Tchekwie Deranger, Executive Director of Indigenous Climate Action; and Myia Antone, Founder of Indigenous Women Outdoors and winner of one of the Starfish Canada’s Top 25 Environmentalists Under 25 Awards.

What we take away from this event will be directly applied to parts two and three of the series, including a letter-writing campaign and town hall event; which will promote actionable steps towards Indigenous-focused climate leadership and youth-led advocacy.
