Over the past 7 years, people of many faiths have come together to plant nearly 2,000 trees and shrubs in London. Tree planting is fun and accessible for people of all ages, and a positive way for us to put our faith to work around a shared belief in caring for the earth.
This year, join us as we plant over 250 native trees and shrubs at a local park. We will also be planting special trees in honour of the Afzaal family, who were tragically killed earlier this year.
There will also be a ReForest London Tree Giveaway, where you can get a free tree to plant in your yard. Donations are welcome!
Tree Planting Event - Agenda
- 2:30 - 3:00 pm - Blessings and opening remarks, followed by a tree planting demonstration / training
- 3:00 - 5:30 pm - Tree Planting, with assistance of staff and volunteers
Location - 330 Sunningdale Road West
The planting area is next to the pond. Parking is available on the side streets in the neighbourhood, on Callingham Drive, Waterside Terrace and Waterside Close. A drop-off location will be available for those with small children or with mobility concerns.
COVID Protocols
Due to ongoing COVID-19 concerns and restrictions, our Interfaith Tree Planting event will look a little different this year, to ensure the safety of our staff, volunteers, community members, and supporters.
- All participants must be registered; we cannot accept unregistered guests
- Equipment will be sanitized between each planting
- All staff and volunteers will wear face masks and gloves
- Attendees will be required to wear face masks
- Hand sanitizer will be available for all to use
- Physical distancing will be in effect
Special Instructions
- Drop Off Area - There will be a marked Drop Off Area next to the planting location, for those that have difficulty walking longer distances.
- Planting Location - Please note that the ground may be wet, uneven, rocky, or have a slight slope.
- Wear sturdy shoes - No sandals or flip-flops please.
- Wear clothing appropriate to the weather – Clothing that you don't mind getting dirty!
- Bring water – We will have a jug to refill your reusable bottle.
- Rain Date - We will plant in light rainfall. In event of heavy rainfall and/or thunder and lightning, the event will be postponed. Check the ReForest London website on the date of the planting if you are unsure.
