Welcome to the Future Leaders in Politics (FLIP) Summit: Youth Leadership for the Environment in Canada's Next Election, happening virtually on Tuesday, May 14th and Wednesday, 15th, 2024!

Elections aren't just about casting ballots: There are countless ways for youth to flex their climate leadership during elections, from running for office, to engaging in a candidate's campaign, mobilizing voters, hosting debates, working in a voting station and more! Come out to our 4th annual FLIP Summit to find out more about ways to engage, and build your networks, grow your experience, hone career-relevant skills, build your resume and make a difference for the climate.

This 2-day conference is dedicated to demystifying the electoral process and showcasing ways to catalyze climate leadership, against the backdrop of Canada's upcoming federal election. Geared toward young individuals passionate about climate action and civic engagement, this immersive event features an impressive lineup of speakers, including Parliamentarians, Ministers, youth leaders, political strategists and community campaigners. We will be delivering a myriad of insightful panels and valuable workshops, with the support of our partners: New Majority, Talk Climate To Me, Young Politicans of Canada, re•generation, Apathy is Boring, and the Institute for Change Leaders.

Day 1 will immerse you in stimulating panel discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions. Delve into topics like effective climate communication, the power of grassroots campaigning, and learn from the experiences of young candidates, campaigners and elected officials already shaping political and electoral landscapes. Day 2 will be dedicated to interactive workshops and skill-building exercises, including an election cycle boot camp aimed at helping participants identify their optimal roles within the political landscape.

Panelists includes a keynotes from Manitoba's Minister of Environment and Climate Change, the Honourable Tracy Schmidt; Nova Scotia's Minister of Environment and Climate Change, the Honourable Timothy Halman; and guest speakers include Member of Parliament for Kitchener-Centre, Mike Morrice; Climate Expert and Canadian Senator Rosa Galvez; Chi Nguyen, Executive Director of Equal Voice, and Former Liberal Party Candidate; Peggy Nash, Former MP and NDP Leadership Candidate, Rossland City Councillor Maya Provençal; Burnaby City Councillor Alison Gu; Former BC Provincial Candidate and Former Vancouver City Council Candidate Tesicca Truong; VP French and Youth Critic for the Green Party Clément Badra; climate advocacy organizations, including Talk Climate To Me, Neighbors United, Re.Climate, and so much more!!
