Cycling can knock a serious chunk off your annual personal carbon emissions. Someone who chooses to hop on their bike rather than into their car will avert about 0.5 kg of GHG for every 2 km travelled!
Ottawa is a winter city, and a winter city with 45% of local emissions coming from transportation! Encouraging active and sustainable modes of transportation year round just makes sense. With an ever-growing network of winter maintained cycling infrastructure and an understanding that there are plenty of beautiful days with dry, comfortable bike routes, you can truly bike in any season!
