Join the Friends of Kilally Meadows on a beautiful 8km guided hike of the second largest and most diverse Environmentally Significant Area (ESA) in London. Learn about invasive species in Kilally and then apply your newfound knowledge to apply removal skills before exploring the pristine environment.
This 2-hour event begins with a hands-on learning experience of the removal of invasive species for habitat restoration within the ESA, followed by a guided hike through both the North and South loops of Kilally Meadows, lead by the Friends of Kilally Meadows.
We ask participants dress appropriately, bringing with them water, masks, and sturdy shoes. Items such as gloves and garbage bags will be provided on-site.
Disclaimer: This event will require a significant amount of physical activity not limited to long periods of standing and walking. In addition, bending, twisting, and crouching may occur during the 30 minute habitat restoration period.
This free event is being offered as a part of the Signal Boost Initiative, which was made possible with support from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
