When February 28, 2019 at 12:00pm 1 hr 30 mins

The Climate Crisis is real, and it threatens all of us.

We’re sick of sitting on the sidelines, waiting as our politicians refuse take meaningful action to address the climate crisis. We’re sick of being told that we’re responsible for climate change when the corporate greed responsible for astronomical amounts of pollution goes unchecked. We’re tired of having to live in a world being created by people who do not have our best interests at heart. On February 28th, we will rise to demand climate justice, to ensure a sustainable future for all of us.

At 12:00 PM, we will meet at London City Hall for speeches and group organization. The march will begin at 12:30 and end around 1:30. Closing remarks will follow in front of City Hall. This will be a peaceful demonstration, and we will not condone violence or inappropriate action.

Climate Change is not an isolated phenomenon, it is the real, imminent threat of a planet that cannot support life. It isn’t a distant threat, it’s happening right now. As young people, the impacts of this crisis will be devastating for ourselves and our children.

The recently released Carbon Majors Report highlights how only "100 companies are responsible for 71% of global emissions". Despite this, we are told that solving the climate crisis is nothing more than a matter of turning off the water when we brush our teeth or using a metal straw. But of course, this isn't true. To stop the climate crisis, we need to hold our government accountable in taking action to solve the climate crisis. Together, we can do this. Will you join us?

What we stand for:

1. A “Green New Deal”, including science-based policies to stop the climate crisis.

2. Challenging the assertion that climate change is the fault of the people, and to call attention the few people who are responsible for putting their own interests ahead of our right to a healthy future.

Will you come?
