Project Category: Waste Reduction

Project Summary:

Vegan Food BoxThe London Vegan Food Bank seeks to end food waste in London through free vegan community meals and free weekly food boxes. They serve 30-50 families per week and host free community meals/free clothing/stuff swaps that have between 50-300 people come each time. Not only is there a very healthy warm meal for people who attend but fresh produce for people to take home.

The London Vegan Food Bank would like to increase the number of community meals (1 per week potentially) and offer more free food, social justice/environmental info, and free stuff at social justice events in London. For example, they provided free sandwiches, fruit, and warm drinks at a Wet'suwet'en solidarity action to stop a CGL pipeline and man camps on unceded land. They hope to grow their volunteer base, increase the number of events hosted and help transition London to a resource organized community which challenges speciesism, classism, racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, ageism, etc. to achieve equality and zero waste in London.
