Steven Kenny is a co-owner of Net Zero Insulation Inc. and previously working as a Certified Energy Advisor completing over 5000 EnerGuide Home Evaluations. Steve was born in Windsor Ontario but was raised in London Ontario where he went to school. Graduating from John Paul II secondary school, he went to Western University to pursue a business degree. Before starting in a career in the energy efficiency sector Steve had a wide range of occupations ranging from sales for a construction company to dietary aide at St Josephs’s Hospital. Energy efficiency runs in Steve’s family. His father got him interested in this line of work as he is also a certified energy auditor. After taking the training courses and passing the necessary qualification exams in 2016 Steve began working as an Energy Advisor. While doing these audits, he and his co-owner Steve Sponseller saw an opportunity to start their own insulation company with a focus on using the “house-as-a-system” approach for better energy savings. When Steve is not working, he enjoys golf, curling, and of course, spending time with his family.
Steve Sponseller is the co-owner of Net Zero Insulation Inc. in London, Ontario, and also previously a Certified Energy Advisor who has performed upwards of 2000 EnerGuide Home Evaluations. After spending his early career in the Golf Industry as an instructor, He began working in the construction industry in 2015 while working as a Skilled Labourer in ICI construction. In 2018 Steve was approached by Steve Kenny (now partners in business) regarding an opportunity to become a Certified Energy Advisor. This is where his passion for Energy Efficiency in residential construction started to blossom. After 3 years in his role as an Energy Advisor Steve began to make plans to start a Residential Insulation Company specializing in Attic Insulation Retrofits. Now in year two of operations, the company is growing and has helped hundreds of homeowners on their journey to improved home energy efficiency and improved home comfort. During the summer when Steve is not working you can likely find him spending time at a lake with family, or on the golf course with friends.
