Want to take your volunteering to the next level? Become a Planting Leader with ReForest London.
Whether you’re looking for a more in-depth and hands-on role, or just wanting to learn more about ReForest London in general, this hour-long session will help you learn more about who we are, what we do and how to get involved as a Planting Leader.
At our Planting Leader training, you will be learning how to become a community leader at ReForest London events. Some things you will learn will include:
– Assisting a small group of volunteers in planting their trees correctly
– Ensuring volunteers in your group can ask questions and learn about planting
– Helping add collars to trees that are missing them
– Helping dig holes for volunteers
– Assisting in the bucketing of mulch to useful spots for volunteers
– Planting additional trees as needed
This session is also an opportunity to connect with other people in London who are passionate about the environment and tree planting just like you. For our more specialized training roles, this training session is the first step on your way to taking on one of our core volunteer roles such as Tree Specialist.
Some snacks will also be provided as a part of this training.
Time Commitment: Planting Leader Training consists of a mixed training format with both a classroom training session and a hike of the Westminster ponds centre. This course certifies you as a ReForest London Planting Leader.
Our Expectations: If you become a Planting Leader, we expect you to assist at FOUR shifts a year (but feel free to do more)
You will receive an I Dig Trees t-shirt after your first event as a certified Planting Leader!
This event will be held in-person in our volunteer training center a 944 Western counties road. A portion of the training will include a walk around the Westminster Ponds Center so please bring weather appropriate clothes and comfortable walking shoes. We hope to see you soon!
