Project Category: Enhancing Waterways

Project Description:

LOLA Bees launched their new Pollinator Pals! program in Summer 2023. This youth-focused program engages children aged 6-12 and their families in learning about sustainability through the lens of natural urban beekeeping and native plant gardening. This in-person environmental education program includes hands-on beekeeping, learning about native plants and pollinators, and planting a demonstration pollinator garden in the Old East Village (which will then be used to educate community members who attend beekeeping workshops)! They focus on how pollinator protection goes hand-in-hand with food security and waste reduction, and how we can become Pollinator Pals in our homes, schools and communities.
