As a result of the London Neighbourhood Decision Making grant, the Meadowgate neighbourhood has been provided with funds to develop a pollinator garden and naturalize the area further. The London Environmental Network is happy to support community members in making this project happen and ensuring that all introduced species are native to the area and acclimated to our region. We are happy to announce that we will be hosting a planting event for the London community on Saturday, September 17 from 11am-3pm at Meadowgate Park.
Please park in the parking lot at Meadowgate Park off of Darnley Boulevard and follow the paths Southeast towards Jackson Road where we will be set up at the planting site near the East entrance.
Please dress for the weather and bring lots of water in a reusable bottle (water fountain and washrooms are available at the park).
Event Overview:
Planting native plants, shrubs, seeds, and trees that promote diversity of local pollinator species for the area.
All plants will be locally sourced and planted to provide habitat and food sources for a variety of native pollinators in order to improve their colony numbers and health.
