Oak wilt poses a significant threat to Ontario’s ecologically and economically important oak resources. Although not currently known to be present in Canada, this invasive disease has been found within 1 kilometer of Ontario’s border, making awareness of this forest pest critically important.
To ensure Ontario’s municipalities, Conservation Authorities, and other land managers are prepared for the threats imposed by oak wilt, the Invasive Species Centre and the City of London invite you to participate in a 1-day oak wilt workshop on March 7th 2019. Representatives from across southern Ontario will learn about the impacts and identification of oak wilt, management techniques used in neighbouring states to mitigate its spread, and what actions Ontario’s forestry community is taking to address this disease. Space is limited so register early to reserve your spot!
