Tree Depots are pop-up stations that offer free trees to anyone who is a resident of London. In spring and fall 2018, we hosted 26 Tree Depots in neighbourhoods across London. We are excited to be offering another busy year of Tree Depots again in 2019.
It is surprising to learn that 40% of the land in London is controlled by individual residential land owners. ReForest London is working to get more trees onto private residential property and you can help by taking a tree and planting it!
At these events, we offer a variety of species available for selection, and staff and volunteers are always on hand to assist with your selection. Some of the species include; sugar maple, red maple, tulip tree, fruit trees, white oak etc
Residents can take 1-3 trees per household, and must provide their address and email at the Tree Depot. Trees are by donation.
Trees are between 3-7 feet tall and you can find the species list here. Tree selection will vary from depot to depot, on average between 10-15 species will be at each depot.
