Five Points Forest Adopt-a-Patch Workshop

Join us at Five Points Forest on May 22nd for an Adopt-a-Patch workshop in celebration of International Biodiversity Day!

As we head into our fourth year of Adopt-a-Patch at Five Points Forest, we're offering native woodland plants to replant in the patches once the Garlic Mustard has been pulled. We've chosen species that can tolerate growing among Garlic Mustard and may shade out new growth. A big thank you to the patch guardians who have already pulled a huge amount of this invasive plant from their patches, and welcome to new volunteers who plan to join the movement!

What to expect at the event:

- A short training session to learn about Garlic Mustard and how to control it
- Newcomers will receive their patch kits - if you already have a patch don't forget to bring your patch kit!
- Newcomers will choose their patches - returning volunteers will find their patches (with some help!)
- Some time to pull Garlic Mustard
- Some native woodland plants to plant after the Garlic Mustard is gone
- An appreciation certificate from Biodiversity Education & Awareness Network (BEAN) in recognition of your outstanding conservation efforts

Don't want to commit to a patch? That's fine too! Come out and pull Garlic Mustard between the patches.

This is an outdoor event and will take place rain or shine. Please come dressed for the weather and bring water, snacks, sunscreen, and bug repellent.

Thank you to our program funders! In particular, we are grateful to TD Friends of the Environment Foundation, who helped us establish the Adopt-a-Patch program, and Biodiversity Education & Awareness Network (BEAN) for supporting this year's workshops.
